Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has decided not to fight the upcoming Haryana, Jharkhand, Jammu and Kashmir and Maharashtra Assembly Elections. The decision is still not final and there will be several rounds of deliberations before any final decision is made.

The decision was taken at the party’s working committee at a meeting of the state Executive of AAP headed by senior leader Yogendra Yadav at Karnal. The party plans to focus only for the Delhi Assembly polls.

AAP spokesperson Rajesh Godara said, “The meeting primarily focused on the prevailing circumstances in Delhi. A consensus on whether to contest elections in Haryana could not be reached during the meeting, thus, a resolution was passed and decision was finally taken not to contest the forthcoming elections in Haryana.”
