Aam Aadmi Party’s Delhi unit secretary and four party volunteers were arrested Friday for putting up posters with proactive message outside the residence of three Congress MLAs. The arrested persons are Dilip Pandey, Ravi Shankar Singh, Sonu, Javed and Rajkumar.

Arvind Kejriwal said: “Just because we foiled BJP’s plans to form Govt in Delhi by buying MLAs, our volunteers and staff are being framed and arrested in false cases. Gaurav and Abid were arrested and kept in police custody for 2 days, badly beaten and forced to take names of senior party leaders. Two staff members and our Delhi secretary Dilip Pandey were interrogated the whole day and arrested.”

Kejriwal further said “What is the issue? A person named Amanatullah from Okhla had put up posters in some parts of Delhi expressing displeasure that 3 Muslim MLAs were joining BJP. Amanatullah alleged that the MLAs had taken Rs 20 crores each. He asked people to gherao their houses. Police found it provocative and started arresting everyone. Interestingly, Amanatullah who has confessed that he put up posters, is not being arrested. Police is arresting only AAP people. It seems the lower police is being forced by seniors to arrest AAP leaders. So, who is masterminding it.?”

AAP leader Gopal Rai said, “If the BJP thinks that by arresting our leaders it can form a government in Delhi, then that won’t be allowed at any cost. We will pay any price but won’t let the BJP form a corrupt government in Delhi.”

AAP Manish Sisodia said “Aam Aadmi Party had nothing to do with controversial posters. I alleged that police was harassing his party members under the pressure of the BJP.”
