The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) announced its cabinet ministers. The cabinet will include Arvind Kejriwal, Somnath Bharti, Manish Sisodia, Girish Soni, Rakhi Birla, Saurabh Bhardwaj and Satyendra Jain. Arvind Kejriwal will be sworn in as youngest chief minister of Delhi on Thursday at Ramlila Maidan.

1. Arvind Kejriwal: Arvind Kejriwal defeated the incumbent Chief Minister, Sheila Dikshit, in her Assembly constituency of New Delhi by a margin of 25,864 votes. Arvind Kejriwal resigned from the Indian revenue services to plunge into social work to create awareness campaigns. After successfully carrying out campaign on Right To information Act, he brought in together prominent citizens on a common platform to start movement for “Jan Lokpal Bill”. Arvind has been awarded the prestigious “Raman Magsaysay Award” for his contribution to the social work. He has made all possible efforts to compel the Government to pass “Jan Lokpal Bill”. For this he fasted from 25th. July 2012 for ten days.

2. Manish Sisodia: Manish became a MLA (Member of Legislative Assembly) from Patparganj by defeating Nakul Bhardwaj of BJP by 11478 votes. By profession Manish Sisodia is a journalist who had worked on various positions for a long time in Television and Radio and has now got involved in movement for social awareness on full time basis. He has played an active role in the campaign for Swaraj, campaign for Right to information Act and Jan Lokpal campaign. He has fought a long battle for Jan Lokpal campaign and sat on a fast for ten days in July of 2012.

3. Somnath Bharti: Bharti became a MLA (Member of Legislative Assembly) from Malviya Ngar by defeating veteran politicians Arti Mehra of the Bharatiya Janata Party (24,486 votes) and the incumbent Kiran Walia of the Indian National Congress (20,500 votes). After doing MSc from Indian Institute of Technology, Somnath Bharti pursued a degree in Law and started his career as a lawyer. He fights for social causes through his profession as a lawyer and drags issues dealing with society to the court to bring them to justice. After the Delhi gang rape case, Delhi Police tried to falsely convict around 8 innocent young boys, Somnath Bharti fought for those young boys and helped them get justice. He was an active member during Janlokpal movement and has also been president of IIT-Alumni association.

4. Satyendra Jain: Satyendra Jain won the MLA seat from Shakur Basti. An architect by profession, Satyendra used to work at CPWD but fed up with the level of corruption in the department he quit his job and started providing architecture consultancy. He actively joined during the Janlokpal movement and is often seen fighting for social causes. He helped in getting the building consturcted for an organization that works for blind girls in Chitrakoot. He is also associated with with an organization named Sparsh, that works for the welfare of mentally challenged children. Satyendra also helps and aids for the marriages of girls from poor families in his area.

5. Saurabh Bhardwaj: Saurabh Bhardwaj won the seat from Greater Kailash constituency, defeating the Ajay Kumar Malhotra of the Bharatiya Janata Party by 13092 in 2013 Delhi state election. Saurabh Bharadwaj is an engineer by profession. He was working in a private firm when in 2005 a horrendous incidence of rape happened with a poor girl. This incident shook him so much that he targeted to fight to get her. During this period he figured that to provide justice in these matters it is imperative that one should have legal knowledge. He studied law and regularly helps the poor in giving them all legal help possible. He constantly raises his voice for the blind, poor students, flood affected and old.

6. Rakhi Birla: Rakhi Birla won as an M.L.A from Mongolpuri constituency in Delhi. Rakhi is a journalist with a private news channel. Apart from that she works in collaboration with few social institutes and works for the causes of Valmiki community. She hails from Valmiki community and her father was associated with Congress for a long time but quit it in 2011 during Janlokpal movement.

7. Girish Soni: Girish Soni is an Indian politician of the Aam Aadmi Party. He was elected as a Member of the Delhi Legislative Assembly from the Madipur constituency of Delhi in the elections of December 2013.

Kejriwal has appointed IAS officer Rajendra Kumar as his principal secretary in Chief Minister’s office. Rajendra Kumar is an IIT Alumni from Kharagpur. He is currently secretary in Delhi government.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) released a video justifying its decision to take outside support from the Congress to form a government in Delhi.

Meanwhile, Arvind Kejriwal has turned down a government bungalow proposed by Delhi Chief Secretary D.M Spolia and refuses to take the security cover.
