Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Arvind Kejriwal met Lt Governor Najeeb Jung on Monday and told him that the delay in dissolving Assembly in Delhi is encouraging horse-trading.

Arvind Kejriwal told the Lt Governor that BJP is attempting horse trading to form the government and party has been approaching their MLAs to get support.

Arvind Kejriwal said: “Met LG this morning and had a good discussion on the subject of Delhi Assembly and government formation attempts. We told the LG that delay in dissolving assembly was encouraging horse trading. All AAP MLAs were present before the LG and told him that they were not going anywhere. We also told him that a few days ago the Congress had held a press conference with all their 8 MLAs and reiterated that there were no break-away factions. The LG will now invite BJP for discussions. If BJP claims they can form govt, LG will ask them to show the numbers to support their claim.”

Manish Sisodia said, “We have told the L-G that there is no chance of government formation now in Delhi. So we requested him for fresh polls. The L-G has said he will consult the BJP as well over fresh polls and will hand over a report to the President over the issue.”

AAP on Sunday tweeted; “The double meaning statements and consistent u-turns by the BJP on the current political situation in Delhi makes it clear that it is running away from facing fresh elections and wants to resort to the Aaya Ram Gaya Ram culture of politics, against which the Supreme Court of India had warned on April 17 this year.”
