Aam Aadmi Party leaders Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia met the Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the PM’s official residence 7, Race Course Road​. PM Narendra Modi greets Arvind Kejriwal with flowers.


Arvind Kejriwal invited the Prime Minister for the oath ceremony on February 14. Unfortunately, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is unlikely to attend swearing-in ceremony of Arvind Kejriwal and his Cabinet at Ramlila Grounds on February 14 due to prior commitments.

After the meeting was over, Manish Sisodia said: “We had a good talk with the Prime Minister. We told the PM that there is a full majority government at the Centre and in Delhi and this is a golden opportunity for both to work together for the betterment of the capital. We demanded full statehood for Delhi and the PM said that he will think over it.”

On Wednesday, Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia had met Union Urban Development Minister M Venkaiah Naidu and Home Minister Rajnath Singh to seek constructive and healthy relationship with the centre.

In their meeting with Naidu, Kejriwal and Sisodia emphasized the need of central government’s co-operation for the compensation of poor people and the regularization of unauthorized colonies. Both Kejriwal and Sisodia discussed with Naidu the need for the control of Delhi Police under the state government.
