Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Arvind Kejriwal announced to contest next Punjab assembly elections 2017. He said the outcome of the recent Lok Sabha polls in Punjab showed that the people were unhappy with both ruling and opposition Shiromani Akali Dal – Bhartiya Janta Party and Congress government and exuded confidence his party would form the next government in the state.

Kejriwal visited Darbar Sahib and Durgiana Mandir in Amritsar on Tuesday. Arvind Kejriwal also visited Jallianwala Bagh to pay his tribute to the martyrs.

In a Press Conference, Arvind Kejriwal said : “AAP will form the government in the next assembly polls in Punjab. We will contest all the assembly seats in the state in the next elections. We doesn’t have large amount of funds but still got a good number of seats in Punjab. We lead at 33 assembly segments and remained second at 25 seats. People have now found a better choice in the shape of AAP which has made a impressive entry in Punjab. I am confident Punjabis will make Punjab drug- and corruption-free by supporting the Aam Aadmi Party in the next state elections. I am thankful to the people of Punjab who had expressed their abundant faith in the AAP and sent its four candidates to Lok Sabha.”

Meanwhile, Arvind Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia and Yogendra Yadav were today granted bail by a Delhi court in a criminal defamation complaint filed against them by an advocate after they furnished personal bond. The court has now fixed the matter for August 16.
