After they were prevented from going to Union home ministry for a planned protest demanding the suspension of four Delhi officers, Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal and his ministers are sitting on a dharna outside the Rail Bhavan. Delhi Police asks Arvind Kejriwal to shift his protest to Jantar Mantar instead of Rail Bhavan.

While prohibitory orders under Section 144 were imposed in New Delhi district, Arvind Kejriwal and his ministers attempted to go to North Block housing the Home Ministry to lodge their protest. Arvind Kejriwal on Monday asked the supporters and even the dissatisfied cops to join the protest.

Arvind kejriwal tweeted “I met delhi police commissioner, home minister and LG and demanded that the police officials shud be suspended or at least transferred.” Aam Aadmi Party government also demanded Home Ministry to bring Delhi Police under the direct control of the Delhi state government. Arvind Kejriwal urged the people of Delhi to join him on a 10-day protest in the capital. “They say I am an anarchist. Yes, I am anarchist. Today, I will create anarchy for Mr Shinde,” Kejriwal said. CM Arvind Kejriwal has also accused the Home Minister Sushil Shinde of accepting money from Delhi Police.

Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde said that action will be taken against Delhi Police personnel once the inquiry is completed. Police will remain under MHA. It can’t be brought under control of Delhi government. Shinde told PTI, “He [Arvind Kejriwal] should maintain ‘garima’ (dignity) of the chair of Chief Minister and wait till the judicial probe is completed. After all he is a Chief Minister…,(which is) a high post. He should cooperate.”

Arvind Kejriwal said that Delhi Police is aware of sex and drug racket in Khirke extension. Some policemen collect money and give it to Home Minister. Delhi Police has to be held responsible for the continuing rapes in the capital. There should be someone who would take responsibility for the crime whether a constable or an official.

The Delhi Police has deployed around 3000 police personnel to stop the proposed dharna by the Aam Aadmi Party, and water cannons have also been placed to control the crowd in case of emergency.
