Arvind Kejriwal can defeat Narendra Modi from Varanasi

The Bharatiya Janata Party announced that the party’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi would contest the 2014 Lok Sabha elections from Varanasi. Arvind Kejriwal is most likely to contest Lok Sabha Election against Mr. Modi in Varanasi. AAP leader Manish Sisodia said that “If Modi contests from Varanasi, then we have almost decided that Arvind Kejriwal will be pitted against him (Modi).The Political Affairs Committee will decide asap.”

Arvind Kejriwal says that he has not yet decided to contest against the BJP’s PM candidate Narendra Modi. Varanasi is likely to see a triangular contest among AAP Chief Arvind Kejriwal, BJP’s PM candidate Narendra Modi and Quami Ekta Dal (QED) candidate Mukhtar Ansari for the first time in Lok Sabha polls instead of bipolar fights seen in the past. In 2009, Murli Manohar Joshi defeated BSP candidate Mukhtar Ansari by a margin of 17,211 votes.

The total voters in Varanasi are 1609460 out of which 902969 are male and 706410 are female. Varanasi is comprised of muslims, brahmins, jatavs, dalits and patels. In Varanasi, Muslim community has a solid 3-4 lakh voters. As an alternate to BSP, Congress and SP, Muslims are looking towards AAP as muslims feel cheated by all political parties. Arvind Kejriwal has created a special bonding with the Dalit community. Arvind Kejriwal has promised to fight for Dalit issues and exploitation. If everything goes well, Arvind Kejriwal can defeat Narendra Modi from Varanasi.

AAP leaders are in favor that Kejriwal should fight against Modi in Varanasi. Kejriwal is expected to address AAP rally in Varanasi on March 23 and a formal announcement will come at a party rally. Today, Kejriwal said that the party has not decided upon who will contest against Narendra Modi from Varanasi, but AAP will field a strong candidate against Modiji. AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal also asserted that Kumar Vishwas will defeat Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi from Amethi. Arvind Kejriwal today tweeted “Many people asking me – “will i contest against Modi ji?” I will talk on this issue in today’s rally at Bangalore.”

Varanasi will go to the polls in last phase on May 12 and the result will be declared on May 16.
