Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has threatened to resign if AAP government is not allowed to introduce the Jan Lokpal Bill in the assembly this week. Kejriwal said that AAP will introduce the Bill in the Delhi Assembly on February 13 and expected to pass the Bill on February 16. Arvind Kejriwal also said that he can go to any extent to pass Lokpal bill in the capital.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday met Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung to discuss the Jan Lokpal Bill. The Lt Governor has promised to consult the Law Ministry on the Bill. The Home Ministry might also consult the law ministry for withdrawal of an order that required proposed bills to be sent to the Centre first.

Arvind Kejriwal posted in Facebook “Swaraj ke liye aur satta seedhe janta ke haath mein dene ke liye 1000 baar CM ki kursi kurbaan. Ye azadi ki duari ladai hai. Desh se corruption mitane ke liye 100 baar CM ki kursi kurbaan [To ensure that Swaraj and governance is directly controlled by the people, I can “sacrifice” the chief minister’s seat a thousand times. This is our second fight for independence. To remove corruption from the country, I can sacrifice the CM’s seat a hundred times.”]

The Congress has declared that it will not support the “unconstitutional” move to pass the Jan Lokpal Bill without the Centre’s nod. The BJP said that it would support AAP Government for passing Jan Lokpal Bill, but won’t let Kejriwal resign and run away from his responsibilities.

Anna Hazare has supported the Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on his stand on Jan Lokpal Bill. Arvind Kejriwal met Anna Hazare at Maharashtra Sadan apprising him about the introduction of Jan Lokpal and Swaraj bills in the assembly.

Meanwhile, Independent MLA Rambir Shokeen decided to withdraw support to AAP Government. He said that Aam Aadmi Party has failed to fulfill its pre-poll promises. MLA Shokeen will meet Lt Governor Nejeeb Jung today to inform LT Jung about his decision to withdraw support to the government and will hold a press conference later during the day. The AAP government would now be one short of a majority in the 70 member assembly.
