Arvind Kejriwal ordered a magisterial inquiry over the Nido Taniam’s death; Aam Aadmi Party Investigations & Revelations

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal today joined the Northeast students at Jantar Mantar who were protesting against the death of Nido Taniam. Arvind Kejriwal apologized for not joining the protest from day one and assured northeast students of all support from Delhi government in the fight for justice. Arvind Kejriwal accused Delhi Police to hide the truth in the Nido Tanianm’s death. He also ordered a magisterial inquiry over the Nido’s death and, the result is expected in three to four weeks.

As promised in its manifesto, AAP is likely to start fresh investigation against Sheila Dikshit. Arvind Kejriwal also warned power distribution companies in the capital to co-operate in examination of their accounts with the government otherwise their licences will be cancelled. The formation of Special Investigation Team in the 1984 anti-Sikh riots can be decided in Delhi Cabinet meeting tomorrow. The list of AAP Investigations and Revelations is mentioned below.

Investigations & Revelations 

1. Aam Aadmi Party leader Prashant Bhushan revealed video tapes against the DMK chief MK Karunanidhi and her daughter M Kanimozhi in the 2G Spectrum scam. Prashant Bhushan promised that the video tapes will be uploaded on AAP website. He claimed that Karunanidhi knows everything of all dealings related to the scam. If the video tapes are genuine, fresh investigation can be expected.

2. Arvind Kejriwal on Monday wrote to President Pranab Mukherjee seeking action against former Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit because she had issued provisional regularization certificates to over 1000 colonies before the 2008 assembly elections for the political gain.

3. Arvind Kejriwal accused Anil Ambani of playing politics over power tariff issue in the capital. Arvind Kejriwal posted on facebook “Anil Ambani playing politics wid delhi’s electricity? Whose politics is he doing?” Anil Ambani manage two power distribution companies – BSES Rajdhani Power Limited and BSES Yamuna Power Limited- in the capital.

4. The AAP government in Delhi is likely to take a decision on forming a Special Investigation Team in the 1984 anti-Sikh riots in Delhi Cabinet meeting on Wednesday. Last week, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal met Delhi Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung and demanded for an SIT probe in the Sikh riots of 1984. The LG ensured that Arvind Kejriwal request would be seriously considered and the prime minister will be informed.

Meanwhile, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) volunteers on Tuesday protested outside the residence of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Arun Jaitley because AAP alleges that Arun Jaitley, Harsh Vardhan and  Narendra Modi are conspiring against AAP.

The Delhi cabinet cleared the Lokpal Bill 2014. AAP leader Manish Sisodia said that the AAP government will table the Lokpal bill in the special assembly session, and will not send it to the Centre. Arvind Kejriwal posted on facebook “Congratulations. Delhi Jan Lokpal Bill passed by Delhi Cabinet.”

The bill has a provision to punish officer if found guilty. The officer can be suspended, dismissed, removed or reduced in rank. The Lokpal would have power to investigate complaints by any investigating agency and, all agencies would continue to remain under the administrative control of the government. The AAP’s Jan Lokpal Bill will cover all the officials and employees of Delhi Government, from the Chief Minister to MLAs.
