Arvind Kejriwal to take oath as the chief minister again on February 14
Aam Aadmi Party has swept the Delhi elections with a stunning majority of 67 in the 70-member Delhi Assembly. BJP got second position with only three seats. Congress was completely decimated and failed to open an account.
In a party meeting attended by all newly elected 67 legislators, Aam Aadmi Party leader Arvind Kejriwal has been appointed leader of the AAP legislature. Arvind Kejriwal also meets with Najeeb Jung to stake claim for forming a government in the capital.
Arvind Kejriwal congratulated the people of Delhi after securing a landslide victory. Arvind Kejriwal said: “This is a victory of people. This is a victory of truth and honesty.”
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has called Arvind Kejriwal and congratulated him on the win. PM Narendra Modi tweeted: “Spoke to Arvind Kejriwal and congratulated him on the win. Assured him centre’s complete support in the development of Delhi.”
Anna Hazare extended his best wishes to Arvind Kejriwal. Anna Hazare said: “This was expected. Kiran Bedi is not responsible for the defeat of BJP but Narendra Modi is. Kejriwal must work for the betterment and benefit of the society.”
Arvind Kejriwal will take oath as the chief minister again on 14 February at Ramlila Maidan. Kejriwal defeated BJP’s Nupur Sharma by a huge margin of 31,583 votes from the prestigious New Delhi constituency.
