Arvind Kejriwal will be the Chief Minister of Delhi

The Aam Admi Party decided to form government in the national capital by taking unconditional support from the Congress. Arvind Kejriwal will be the Chief Minister of Delhi.

After meeting with Lt Governor Najeeb Jung, Arvind Kejriwal said Lt Governor will send the letter to the President and dates will be fixed later for the swearing-in Oath taking ceremony at Ram Lila Maidan.

“Majority of the people wanted us to form the government, and now I am going to meet the Lt. Governor to inform him that AAP is ready to form the government in Delhi,” Kejriwal said.

Manish Sisodiya said that Arvind Kejriwal will be the next Chief Minister and, rumours that someone else might become the chief minister are false. Arvind Kejriwal is expected to take oath of office on December 26.

“The party had from the beginning projected him (Kejriwal) as our CM candidate. We fought the elections under his leadership, and all the MLAs had selected him as the chief minister candidate,” Sisodia said.

AAP leader Yogendra Yadav tweeted this morning: “Polls closed. 280 jansabhas, 324k SMS, 238k calls, 135k web votes. Ever heard of a larger exercise in participatory democracy? Delhi wins.”

The AAP got 28 seats in the 70-member Delhi assembly. The Bharatiya Janata Party had emerged as the single largest party by winning 31 seats while the Congress stood third with eight seats.
