Arvind Kejriwal will meet Union Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde at 5:30 PM to discuss suspension of the three SHO’s (station house officers)

Arvind Kejriwal met Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung and Delhi Police Commissioner BS Bassi today to complain about the issue of negligence by Delhi Police against alleged crime that occurred in Malviya Nagar and Sagarpur.

Arvind Kejriwal demands suspension of the three SHO’s (station house officers) immediately. The Sagarpur SHO did not arrest members of a family who allegedly set their daughter-in-law on fire, while the the SHO of Malviya Nagar is accused of refusing to take action against the foreigners in the alleged prostitution and drugs racket despite the law minster, Somnath Bharti, house raid in south Delhi on suspicion that Nigerian nationals are involved in prostitution and drug trafficking .

The Delhi Police rejected Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s demand to suspend the SHO’s. Arvind Kejriwal is now expected to meet Union Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde at 5:30 PM to discuss the issue.

Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said that Delhi police force is “highly compromised” for not acting on the complaints of two of his ministers, Rakhi Birla and Somnath Bharti.

A gang-rape took place on Tuesday of a 51 year old Danish woman. She was staying at Hotel Amax Inn, Paharganj. She lost her way to the hotel and approached to a group of people for the directions. She was assaulted and raped for more than three hours by eight men. Reacting on the rape case, Arvind Kejriwal said that security of the people has been left to God, and that these incidents should not take place.
