Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal transferred around 800 officials of Delhi Jal Board to improve service delivery, while three others were suspended on charges of corruption. The transferred employees were posted at the water emergency and filling points for over three years.

A chief water analyst Vinod Kumar, Patwari Sunil Kumar and a meter reader Atul Prakash were suspended “with immediate effect” after a sting operation, aired on television, caught them taking bribes to clear use of water for building construction and meter reading. The Anti-Corruption Branch of the Delhi government has initiated the inquiry against the three DJB officials.

“Transfer orders for around 800 officials were issued today to improve service delivery. All those officials who have worked for over three years in a particular place have been transferred to a different place,” a senior DJB official said to PTI.

Meanwhile, majority of people want to see Arvind Kejriwal as Prime Minister candidate. Though Arvind Kejriwal is not willing to contest Lok Sabha elections, the AAP first wants to assess its strength and then take a call on this issue.
